PROJ 102 Project Course 3 Credits
PROJ 102 Project Course is designed to introduce the student into the practice of project work, to challenge the student's creative and intellectual abilities, and to provide the student with an opportunity to function within a team. The student gets first hand experience in planning and implementing a project so as to meet a set due date for presenting the client with the deliverables expected. Timing of the activities and the allocation of resources to these activities are crucial decisions to be made by the team members.

PROJ 300 Project and Internship 0 Credit
This is a non-credit, elective course that aims to foster field work experience in the student's chosen area of study. The course offers the students the opportunities to gain insights into the nuances of business and social environments; to learn about specific issues facing firms in the domestic and the global market; to improve their understanding of other cultures and societies; to foster research; to outreach to the global community. The course aims to enable students to learn about the conditions under which they would launch successful start-ups and expose them to the breadth of various issues. In order to realise these goals, the course includes experiential opportunities for students to put their new skills to work in real-world settings in line with their program requirements. A summer project or internship is mandatory for fulfilling the course requirements.

PROJ 301 Guided Project I 1 Credit
This is an elective course that aims to provide FASS students in particular with an upper-class introduction, under academic guidance, to thematically focused, practice-oriented research and applied experience in areas or problems of work broadly related to the Humanities and Social Sciences (such as : quantitative surveys; curriculum development and course design; teacher training; teaching at the primary and secondary school level; forms of public, community, out-reach or electronic education; cultural legacy management; exhibition design, excavation design or performance design). Such themes or problems will be changing from one semester (or year) to the next, depending on concrete opportunities for students to put their new knowledge and skills to the test in real-world settings.

PROJ 302 Summer Project 0 Credit
All FENS students are required to complete a summer project (PROJ 302) with a minimum duration of 8 weeks after 3rd year and to have a satisfactory (S) standing so as to receive their B.Sc. degrees. The main objectives of the the summer project are (i) to give the students a chance to gain first- hand working experience in an industrial setting, (ii) to enhance their technical and communications skills, (iii) to enable them to interact with engineers and technicians effectively. At the same time, the summer projects help the students' professional development. Students determine their internship companies/institutions based on their interests and programs they are enrolled. At the end of the project, students are required to prepare and submit a final project report and make a presentation. Students have to be enrolled in a FENS Diploma Programme in order to register for this course. See PROJ 302 guideline for further details.
