Pelin Tünaydın's (CULT MA student) Conference Participation
Sabancı University, Cultural Studies MA program student Pelin Tünaydın will present her paper entitled "Pawing through the Abolition of Bear Dancing: An Ethnographic Exploration" at the Non-Human in Social Science III: Past Trajectories Future Prospects conference to be held at Charles University in Prague on November 17-18, 2012.
She is currently working on her thesis on the abolition of bear dancing in Turkey and its ethnic, political and urban implications. She recently participated in the Annual Meeting of the Gypsy Lore Society held in Istanbul on September 19-22 with her paper "Rescuing the Bears, Silencing the Bear Leaders".
