History PhD Gizem Kong's conference participation
Gizem Korg, PhD candidate in History, received Tübitak Travel Grant and presented a paper entitled “The Bektashi Tahrirs: Bektashi Literary Culture in the Nineteenth Century According to State Registers: The Example of Tekke-i Abdal Musa” at the Middle East History and Theory (MEHAT) Conference, in Chicago organized by the University of Chicago on May 3-5, 2013.

Korg is currently working on her dissertation on the power relations between the religious elite of a seventeenth century Ottoman town.
