Remembering Dicle.
We miss Dicle…
It is that very sad time of the year... It has been four years since we lost our dear friend and colleague Dicle Koğacıoğlu. We miss her dearly...
We would like to share three announcements that relate to the different ways in which we continue to remember Dicle and cherish her friendship and scholarship:
* Dicle’s family has shared this announcement for this October 5th. Her family and friends will meet at 12pm on October 5th in the Zincirlikuyu Graveyard.
* Every year, the Gender Forum organizes a graduate student paper award in Dicle's name. The selected papers are then presented in a one-day conference, followed by the award ceremony. This one day event has so far been memorable - with excellent papers and presentations, and warm sharing between Dicle's family, friends, colleagues, former students, and others who have not known her personally but have been inspired by her work. The call for papers for this award is still active. Please do circulate it in your networks and, in the case of graduate students, please consider submitting a paper. The deadline is October 20. (only Turkish)

* A talk that Dicle had given in 2007 has recently been published in the European Journal of Turkish Studies thanks to the efforts and hard work of the editors, particularly Elise Massicard. The talk was turned into an article with careful editing and contributions from Seda Kalem from İstanbul Bilgi University and Tuğçe Ellialtı, one of our former graduates.
