Speaker Bio: Nergis Dolcerocca has a BA in English Literature from Boğaziçi University, an MA in Cultural Studies from Sabancı University, and an MA in Comparative Literature from New York University. She received her PhD in Comparative Literature from New York University with a dissertation titled: Time Regulation Institutes: Time in Modern Literary and Cultural Imagination (1889-1960). She has published an article on “Imitative Desire and Homoerotics in Tutunamayanlar” in the International Journal of Turkish Studies; her article, “Chronometrics in the Modern Capital: A.H. Tanpinar's Istanbul,” is forthcoming next Fall in the Journal of Middle Eastern Literatures, and she is editing a special issue of the same journal on Tanpınar.
