Ottolegal Conference: The Balance of Justice in the Ottoman Empire

This conference challenges existing paradigms by exploring the varied and evolving roles non-Muslims played as agents in the Ottoman legal system. By examining these roles in all their range and complexity, it aims to promote a more informed picture both of non-Muslims’ place in Ottoman society and of the dynamism of the rules and norms that governed all within it, Muslim and non-Muslim alike.
