‘Winds into Future II’ at Kasa Gallery
Selected works for the 13th Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and Mediterranean
Kasa Gallery presents works by Şebnem Özbe Arıkan, Beliz Demircioğlu, Elif Süsler, Halil Vurucuoğlu and Denizcan Yüzgül as part of ‘Winds into Future’ exhibition series. This is the second exhibition of selected works from nine young artists for the 13th Biennial of Youmg Artists from Europe and Meditteranean to be held in Puglia/Italy in May
Halil Vurucuoğlu (painting), Şebnem Özbe Arıkan and Elif Süsler (installation), Beliz Demircioğlu (interactive video) and Denizcan Yüzgül (animation) will have their first major opprtunity to exhibit their works internationally. The exhibition at Kasa Gallery will be open between dates 16 January and 29 February 2008.
Şebnem Özbe
Arıkan, (1978 İstanbul). In
2001 graduated form Bilgi Üniversitesi Media and Communications Department. In
January 2007 completed Visual Arts and Communication Design Program at Sabancı
University.
Beliz Demircioğlu, (1982 İstanbul) Had her BFA in Dance degree from New York University, Tisch School of
the Arts, in 2003. In 2005 completed the Masters in Interactive
Telecommunications program at the same institution. Since 2002 worked at many New
York based choreography and interactive media organisations. In November 2007 her
installation titled“The Crowd In Us” is shown at TEDANCE Festival in Lisbon. In December she participated at the
art lab “Absent Interfaces” at Tanzquartier Wien as one of the five invited European
artists.
Elif Süsler, (1983 Ankara) In 2006 graduated from Visual Arts
and Communication Design Program at Sabancı University. Worked as a photography
assistant at fashion and advertisement fields. In 2006 participated at IFSAK 1.
International Biennial of Photography. Currently continues her postgradute
studies.
Halil
Vurucuoğlu, (1984 İzmir) Currently
at his last year at Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Fine Arts Faculty Painting
Department. In 2006 participated in ‘Acid and Dust’exhibition at K2 Art Center.
In 2007 exhibited at ‘Hope is a good thing’ exhibition curated by Kantürk
at Atelierfrankfurt.
Denizcan Yüzgül (1983 İzmir) Started animation at Anadolu Üniversitesi
Animated Film Department. In 2004 initiated the first student based animated
film studio Animatolye. In 2005 went to further study animation at Film School
Zlin in Chech Republic.
