Applicants must have completed their previous degree programs (BA/BSc for MA applicants, MA for PhD applicants) by September 5, 2005, at the latest.
Required Documents for Application

2. Official Transcript : Undergraduate transcripts for application to master programs and undergraduate and graduate transcripts for application to PhD programs are to be submitted in a sealed envelope from the Office of Student Resources/Services of the applicant’s previous university/universities.
3. 2 Letters of Recommendation Included in the application form
4. Any of the following Science Test score
o LES Minimum test score 45 in Numerical, Equal Weight or Verbal sections
o GRE Minimum total score 950 from Verbal and Quantitative sections, and minimum total score 3,5 from Analytical Writing section
5. Any of the following English Proficiency Exam result
o TOEFL
History : Min Score 237
Visual Arts and Visual Communications Design : Min Score 190
Other Programs : Min Score 220
o IELTS
Visual Arts and Visual Communications Design : Min Score 6,5
Other Programs : Min Score 7,0
o Sabanci University English Language Assessment Exam (S _'satisfactory')
6. Other than the above requirements, if available, candidates are strongly recommended to submit the following items for these characteristics and documents could highly be effective in the admission evaluation process.
In All Applications:
o Statement of Purpose
o OSYS Exam Result (SAT score; if available)
o Original Written Documents: the completed part of the thesis for applicants from Master’s Programs
In Economy Applications, also :
o Submission of both LES and GRE scores
o LES Numerical Section or Equal Weight scores in 4th percentile
o GRE Minimum score 780 in Quantitative Section and minimum score 320 in Verbal section
In History Applications, also:
o 2.50/4.00 GPA for master’s program applications.
o LES Verbal or Equal Weight score in 8 th percentile
In Visual Arts/ Visual Communication Design Applications, also:
o -Portfolio: Accepted portfolio formats; PDF documents, CD/DVD, printed hard copy materials, slides are accepted in priority; works submitted as online addresses will be taken into secondary consideration.
o - No skill exam will be given.
Legend :
- LES is a national Graduate Education Exam and compulsory for Turkish citizens only who do not have GRE/GMAT.
- Science and English Proficiency Exam Result documents are valid for 2 years since the exam taken.
- Candidates who have been admitted to graduate programs with minimum Science Test Score but dismissed from the program can be admitted to the same or a different program without a new Science Test Score within at most one semester later upon dismissal. Also, those students who are granted with a Master’s degree and are admitted to another graduate program at most one semester later upon graduation are not required to submit a new Science Test Score, however they are required to submit the score used in their previous program admission.
- The graduates of Sabanci University, who have applied and accepted to a Sabanci University graduate program within two years following the graduation, will be exempted from the English Language Assessment Exam.
- Applicants either can submit their application packages in person or can send via mail to Sabanci University Student Resources Office.
- Applicants who apply to more than one graduate program are required to submit separate application packages for each program.
- Science and English Proficiency Exam results’ photocopies are acceptable solely during the application period. Original copies are to be submitted during admission.
- Bachelor’s degree is required for all graduate programs.
Financial Support
A limited number of scholarships based on academic achievement are available in the form of partial or full tuition waivers and/or stipends.
Deadline and Acceptance
May 31, 2005 is the deadline for the applications. For all programs except Economics and European Studies, all applicants take a written exam, afterwards eligible candidates are invited for an interview. For Economics MA and European Studies MA Programs, after an initial screening, eligible candidates are invited for an interview.
