Catherine
Pinguet’s interdisciplinary work includes a study on Jean Genet and the
Palestinians, on the poems of Kaygusuz Abdal, on translating Turkish
mystical literature, on Alevi poetry, on the street dogs of Istanbul
(with a forthcoming volume entitled “The Street Dogs of Istanbul:
History of an Urban Cohabitation from the 19th century to the Present
Day”) and on animal representation in literature. Her work has been
published in translation in Cogito, Kitaplık, Adam Sanat as well as in
French in academic journals.
