Sabancı University, which has the highest bed capacity student dormitory in terms of the total number of students in Turkey, offers its students the opportunity to live as if at home on its Tuzla campus. There are 6 different types of dormitory rooms, including single, studio, disabled, 2, 3, and 4 people, with shower, toilet, closet, telephone and internet connection for each student.
Students have the opportunity to study at their study desks in their own rooms or in the study halls with an internet connection on each floor. Apart from the study hall, the television room on each floor is open to students. Dormitory buildings and rooms are designed to provide comfort and convenience to Sabancı University students.
The Sports Center has a main hall, used for basketball and volleyball games, with a capacity of 1200. Other facilities include three squash courts, exercise and cardio halls, fitness studios and table tennis areas, and a climbing wall used for mountain climbing exercises.
Sabancı University Information Center has an extensive collection of books, e-books, multimedia resources, more than twenty thousand print and electronic magazines, and 57 CD-ROMs and online databases. Ebsco-Host has a very extensive database, including management and business specific databases such as Euromonitor Global Market Information Database, ISI Emerging Markets.
Internet and local network access throughout the campus is provided via wired and wireless systems. All students receive educational support and an e-mail address that is used after graduation.
The inauguration of the Sabancı University Performing Arts Center (SGM) was announced in June 2004 with a letter personally signed by Sakıp Sabancı three days before he passed away. SGM is now the largest conference and art center in the Anatolian side of Istanbul, and hosts the performances of a large number of prominent artists and ensembles throughout the year.
SGM has a capacity of 912 and serves not just Sabancı University faculty and students, but the wider community surrounding the campus. By inviting internationally-renowned performers and ensembles, SGM ensures that audiences of all ages and walks of life make time for artistic events that they will appreciate, helping to keep the artistic bar high.
Under the guidance of Yekta Kara, former solo performer, chief dramaturge and director in the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet, SGM has featured globally popular performances and concerts by the leading performers of Turkey and the world since its inauguration.
