Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Sabancı University and the City University of Hong Kong (CityU)
As discussions progressed toward a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Sabancı University and the City University of Hong Kong (CityU), the two institutions identified five priority areas to explore opportunities for collaboration in research and education. As part of this initiative, FASS social psychologists Çiğdem Bağcı, Gül Günaydın, and Emre Selçuk participated in a series of meetings with their counterparts at CityU. These exchanges have already resulted in collaborative research projects, and the group hopes that their experience can serve as a blueprint for broader institutional collaborations.
Following the signing of the MOU, Cavit Baran, Gül Günaydın, and Emre Selçuk partnered with Edwin Tso and his team from CityU’s School of Energy and Environment to evaluate the social and psychological impact of the Fostering Innovation for Resilience and Sustainable Transformation (FIRST) Program. FIRST is a United Nations-endorsed initiative aimed at developing affordable technologies to enhance the quality of life in underprivileged regions. Emre Selçuk also serves on the Management Committee of the FIRST Program.
