Achieved Young Scholar Award, 2004.
Mehmet Yörükoglu received his Ph.D. in Economics from University of Rochester
in 1996. Before joining our faculty, he had been a faculty member in the Department
of Economics of the University of Chicago between 1996-2003. He was a visiting
faculty member in the Finance Department of The Wharton School of University of
Pennsylvania in 1998-1999 academic year. His studies especially on Macroeconomic
Affects of the Information Technology Revolution and Information Technology Productivity
Paradox received enormous academic and popular attention. His studies are heavily
cited in academic journals and received popular attention through popular media
like Newsweek, Slate, Times, etc. For more than two years, one of his papers was
ranked in top 10 best journal articles among more than 100,000 journal articles
in economics, in terms of internet download numbers.
