Abstract/Synopsis of the talk in short:

The talk will present a performative approach to visuality. The focus of the talk will be on the process of one’s encounter with an image and the mechanisms of the performance of the image on the audience. In reference to several photographic images, the talk will expand on the three basic kinds of visual effects, namely, the spatial effect, the tactile effect, and the gaze (gesture) effect.
