FASS / VACD instructor
Murat Germen’s
video + photography work called “Let me honestly tell you... /
Industrial Architecture” was selected for screening in the BEYOND MEDIA
FESTIVAL organized yearly in

Florence.

BEYOND MEDIA is an international new media and architecture festival,
curated this year by Marco Brizzi. BEYOND MEDIA, today in its 8th
edition, has been taking place in

Florence since 1997 and is one of the
most important events worldwide devoted to the most advanced
visualizations in architecture and to the debate on the relationships
between the project and the media of communication. This year’s concept
was “Script” and the idea was to help architecture to find new ways of
expression through interactive multimedia and contemporary art. In
addition to student works from world-famous architecture schools like
Architectural Association (AA), Harvard University GSD, SCI-Arc/Los
Angeles, Pratt Institute, Cooper Union, Bartlett School of
Architecture, etc; the festival, which took place between the dates of
December 1st-11th, also covered works of important architects such as;
Massimiliano Fuksas, Alsop Architects, Hans Hollein, Arata Isozaki
& Associates, Steven Holl Architects, Zaha Hadid Architects, etc.
The activities were presented in two different buildings; Ospedale
Degli Innocenti (old hospital building), Brunelleschi Hall and Leopolda
Train Station,
Alcatraz building. The event is promoted by the Department of Architectural Technologies and Design "Pierluigi Spadolini" of the
University of
Florence, organized by iMage(http://www.image-web.org), promoted by the Italian Ministry of Culture, the Region of Tuscany, the Province and the

Municipality of
Florence, and realized in
collaboration with the Planning Department of the Municipality and with
the Stazione Leopolda. For more information: http://www.beyondmedia.it
