Cultural Studies MA Student Aykun Özgens Conference Participation

Cultural Studies MA student Aykun Özgen presented a paper entitled “Writing Life Writerly: Orhan Pamuk’s Istanbul as an Aesthetic Autobiography” at the “Writing Life Symposium” in Malta organized by Malta University on March 22-23, 2013.

Özgen is currently working on his thesis on the literature of Orhan Pamuk. He will also present a paper entitled “The Philosophical Concepts of Friedrich Nietzsche’s Zarathustra in Turkish Translations” at the “Postgraduate Conference on Translation Studies and Literatures in English” in Ankara at Cankaya University on May 13-14, 2013. Next year he will begin his PhD studies in the Comparative Literature Department at the State University of New York, Buffalo.
