VACD MA Student Zeynep Özel's Art Workshop Participation
Visual Arts and Communication Design MA student Zeynep Özel will attend 7th Tropical Lab Singapore on 24th of July and 7th August 2013. Tropical Lab is an International Art Camp for Art Academies and Institutes organized by LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore.
A series of creative workshops and other activities (presentations, seminars, dialogues, (trips) will be conducted by established international and local artists and staff members from LASALLE College of the Arts.
Tropical Lab's 2013 theme will be “ECHO: The Poetics of Translation” and Zeynep Özel will contribute to the theme with the idea of “trans-creation”. “Trans-creation” project will be the anticipation of text translation as a kinetic process of different mediums; translation enhanced by graphic design, motion graphics, sound, music and video. Tropical Lab 7 will provide this project with the opportunity of cross cultural collaboration and work across the boundaries of new global connectivity.
After the workshop and seminars, an exhibition of the resulting projects will be curated by Dr. Charles Merewether, Director, Institute of Contemporary Art Singapore, and held at ICAS
Gallery’s.
