VAVCD Workshop / Joachim Pietsch - Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT)

Sabancı University Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design Program presents series of two workshops on Cellular Automata by Joachim Pietsch, a lecturer at the Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT) in Ireland. Pietch specializes in Creative Computing, Digital Media Technology, and Applied Psychology, bringing over two decades of academic experience to his role with an interest in Generative Arts and Physical Computing.

The first workshop (14.05.2025) will be part of the VA455/555 Physical Computing course and will be open to course participants. The second workshop (16.05.2025 btw 12:40-14:40)  will be open to all students.

*Joachim Pietsch holds a BA in Fine Arts and Spanish, an MA in Interactive Multimedia, an MA in Cognitive Science, and several postgraduate certifications in teaching and data visualization. He is involved in FilmEU research projects, in XR,  including "Infamous Shipwrecks" and "Beyond the Lighthouse."

He has presented at numerous conferences and delivered workshop in electronic arts, virtual reality, and serious gaming across Europe.
