VAVCD Seminar Series; Luuk Schröder (Artist-Researcher, Minerva Art Academy)

Artist-researcher Luuk Schröder will give a talk on his ongoing research project examining electronic waste through artistic practice. Working at e-waste recycling centers in the Netherlands, Schröder creates performative interventions that engage with the workers and materials usually hidden from view. His practice explores how art can make visible the material realities and human labor behind our media technologies. The workshop will discuss his methods and findings, and consider how artistic research can open new perspectives on our relationship with electronic devices and waste.
