Feyza Çorapçı
Feyza Çorapçı joined the Psychology Program in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Sabanci University in 2023. After graduating from Boğaziçi University with a BA degree in Psychology, she completed her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Clinical Psychology at Purdue University in 2004 and pursued a postdoctoral fellowship in the Center for Human Growth and Development at the University of Michigan. Upon returning to Turkey, she had been a faculty member in the Psychology Department at Boğaziçi University between 2006-2023. Dr. Çorapçı has developed three lines of research on (1) risk and protective factors about children’s emotion regulation and social adjustment, (2) cultural socialization of children’s emotions, and (3) preventive interventions to improve the developmental trajectories of disadvantaged children. Dr. Çorapçı’s scholarly work on these topics includes publications in prestigious journals and presentations at premier conferences. She also won highly competitive research grants and established collaborations with leading researchers in the field. Dr. Çorapçı has served as the Consulting Editor for Developmental Psychology, one of the premier journals in the field, and will act as Assistant Editor in the Infant and Child Development journal starting in 2024.
