The application for a PhD academy by Zeynep Gülru Göker, Cenk Özbay, and Ayşe Betül Çelik on preventing and combating violence against women, in collaboration with Ca’ Foscari University and the University of Milano-Bicocca, to be held at Venice International University in late 2025, has been accepted!

Dr. Eren Günseli was granted the award for his pioneering work at an international level to understand the interaction of cognitive functions such as memory, attention, and decision-making and the neural mechanisms underlying these processes.

The results of the annual “Teaching Awards Survey” have been announced.

The ISType 2024 conference, themed “text-ure,” took place on Saturday, November 2nd at Salt Galata, Istanbul, and brought together a distinguished lineup of speakers to explore the evolving dimensions of type design. The event, which addressed historical influences, contemporary innovations, and forward-looking perspectives, provided attendees with a comprehensive perspective on how type and texture intersect in today’s design environment.

FASS faculty member, Asst. Prof. Dr. Yoong Wah Alex Wong and VAVCD students, Ali Özgün Akyüz and Ayşe Beraa Özcan attended the Shanghai International Photo Festival (8-23 November 2024) and Shanghai Contemporary Art Fair (7-11 November 2024).

Our Faculty of Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design faculty members, Selçuk Artut and Onur Yazıcıgil, presented the Manuzio exhibition organized in collaboration between Sabancı University and Venice International University (VIU).

The exhibition about Aldo Manuzio (Aldus Manutius), one of the most important actors in the history of printing and publishing, was organized as a joint project of Venice International University and Sabancı University and was presented at the Frankfurt Book Fair last month.

FASS/VAVCD faculty member Yoong Wah Alex Wong, visited Shenyang City University, China. He shared his visual works and delivered a talk, “Vanishing White: The Aesthetics of Climate Change.”

Turkish Studies master's student Onur Can Öz has received the prestigious Mutefferriqa Award, announced at the Ottoman Turkish Studies Conference at Northwestern University in 2024.

Hüsamettin Şimşir has received OTSA Vangelis Kechriotis Memorial Travel Grant
